ViewLux Driveway & Pavers: The Orange County Owner’s Guide
If your ViewLux paver driveway or patio is showing cracked units, sinking sections, or failed joint sand, we can source the matching pavers and have them installed correctly. Most ViewLux-compatible paver repairs in Orange County run between $700 and $5,000 depending on how many units need replacing and whether the base layer underneath has shifted. Homeowners usually find us after a section of pavers starts rocking underfoot, or a low spot collects standing water after rain, or the edge restraints let go and the whole border starts wandering outward.
We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with ViewLux. What that means for you: we match your existing paver profile, color lot, and laying pattern, then price the repair in writing before any work starts.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux pavers come in a handful of profiles that show up across Orange County driveways, walkways, and pool decks. The most common sizes we see are the 60mm paver for driveways (thicker, built to handle vehicle weight) and the 40mm paver for patios and walkways. Some older installations used an 80mm unit for heavy-duty applications, usually commercial or RV parking.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha most homeowners don’t know: ViewLux color lots shift from production run to production run. A paver bought in 2019 won’t be a perfect color match to a unit from 2023, even if both are stamped with the same color name. That’s not a defect. It’s just how concrete pigment works. When we do a repair, we pull a sample and match against what’s currently available, and we’ll tell you honestly if the match is close or if it’s going to look patchy. Sometimes blending old and new units across a wider area does a better job than spot-replacing a tight cluster.
For accessories like edge restraints and joint sand, the generics work fine. ViewLux doesn’t make a proprietary plastic edging that you must buy from them. A standard commercial-grade edge restraint from a masonry supplier will hold the border properly. Joint sand is just polymeric sand, and we use high-quality brands that harden when wet, which discourages weeds and ants better than basic sand.
OEM versus aftermarket isn’t really a decision point for pavers the way it is for, say, a dishwasher pump. The paver itself is the paver. What matters is the base underneath it and the edge restraint around it. If you’re replacing units, get the same profile and thickness. If you’re rebuilding a section, get the base compacted correctly or you’ll be back here in two years.
If you also have ViewLux products elsewhere in the home, we’re happy to take a look while we’re out. We carry parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone as well, so if your kitchen countertop edge chipped or a cabinet hinge gave out, one visit can cover both.

Signs Your ViewLux Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Rocking or wobbling pavers. When a paver shifts under your foot, the joint sand has washed out or the base has settled unevenly. In Orange County, this is often the result of winter rain saturating sandy soil under the base layer, especially in older neighborhoods with unamended native soil.
- Low spots that hold water after rain. Standing puddles on a paver surface mean the sub-base has compacted unevenly. You’ll see this most often near downspouts or where heavy vehicles park. Left alone, water works its way under the pavers and accelerates the problem.
- Widening joints with weeds or ant mounds. Polymeric sand fails after five to eight years in our climate. Once it breaks down, joints open up, and weeds show up fast. Ants love loose joint sand. If you’re seeing either, the sand is done and should be swept out and replaced.
- Edge pavers creeping outward. The border row of a paver driveway takes lateral pressure every time a car turns onto it. If the edge restraint wasn’t spiked deep enough, or was never installed correctly, that border row starts walking. You’ll see a widening gap where the driveway meets the lawn or planter.
- Chipped or spalled paver faces. Concrete pavers in coastal Orange County take salt air and occasional freeze-thaw cycles, and older units can start flaking at the surface. A chipped corner is cosmetic. Widespread spalling across multiple pavers usually means the units have reached the end of their useful life.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Paver repairs in Orange County generally fall into three buckets. Spot replacement of a few cracked or chipped units runs $700 to $1,500, including matching pavers, resetting the base under those units, and re-sanding the joints. A section rebuild where base compaction failed, usually 100 to 300 square feet, runs $2,000 to $5,000 because we’re digging out the failed base, recompacting, and relaying every paver. Full paver driveway installation runs $7,000 to $18,000, which covers excavation, base, sand setting bed, pavers, polymeric sand, and edge restraints.
Every price we give is written. The number on the quote is the number on the invoice. For repairs, we include the parts, labor, haul-off of any failed material, and the joint sand. If we find something unexpected underneath, we stop and call you with a number before we do anything else. No surprises at the door.
Our work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. If it fails after that, the first return visit is still free. That’s written on every paver job we do.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely pull a single rocking paver and check what’s under it. If the sand base is washed out, that’s your answer, and it’s a straightforward repair. If the base underneath has sunk, you’re looking at a bigger job than a bag of sand fixes. Rebuilding a paver base means digging, compacting in lifts, and grading for drainage. Get any of that wrong and the new pavers settle within a season. In Orange County, where most paver failures trace back to water and drainage, proper base prep is the difference between a repair that lasts ten years and one that fails again in eighteen months.
If you’re not sure which situation you have, call us at (424) 541-1701. We’ll take a look, tell you what’s actually going on under the surface, and put a written number in your hand before we pick up a single tool. Give you the number first, then pick up the tool.
FAQs

ViewLux pavers themselves typically last 25 to 40 years in Orange County, but the joint sand and base layer have much shorter lifespans. Plan on re-sanding every five to eight years, and expect base settlement issues on driveways within ten to fifteen years if drainage wasn’t handled correctly at installation. The pavers rarely fail on their own; the system underneath them does. Call (424) 541-1701 if you suspect base or drainage problems, and we’ll diagnose it honestly.
A single cracked paver can’t be glued back together and look right. The fix is to remove the cracked unit and swap in a new one, which is usually a $150 to $400 repair for a single unit including matching and re-sanding. If you have several cracked pavers clustered together, replacement costs less per unit because we’re already on site and set up. Call (424) 541-1701 for a written quote on the exact number of units you need.
A spot replacement of one to five pavers takes a few hours, including joint sand and cleanup. A section rebuild with base recompaction takes one to two days depending on access and square footage. A full driveway installation runs three to five days. We’ll give you a defined arrival window and a realistic completion timeline before work starts, in writing.
We don’t stock ViewLux pavers on the truck because color lots change and we’d rather match your existing units than guess. We pull a physical sample on the first visit, match it at the supplier, and order exactly what’s needed. Most pavers are available within a few days in Orange County. Call (424) 541-1701 to schedule a look at your site, and we’ll confirm availability and price before you commit to anything.
